Introduction

The Azeemia Foundation is a representative body of the Azeemia Sufi Order, established since 1960. The founder, Qalandar Baba Auliya was born in India, and while at university was enlightened by the path of Sufism. Also referred to as Islamic mysticism, Sufism is a journey of Divine realisation through self realisation. Qalandar Baba Auliya devoted his life to this practise of Sufism and founded the Azeemia Sufi Order in Pakistan.

He taught and resided with the now patron-in-chief of the Foundation, (Hazrat) Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi, for 16 years. (Hazrat) Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi has been the grand Sufi Master of the Order since 1979. In this time, he has written more then 35 books as well as numerous articles on most aspects of metaphysical science. Traditionally, metaphysical and cosmological sciences are far beyond the understanding of those unfamiliar with the practice. However, he has revolutionised the literature of Sufi thought by making it accessible to everyday people. His work has been translated into Arabic, English, Persian, Thai and Russian.

Hazrat Azeemi is the editor-in-chief of the monthly publication Roohani Digest. He is also a professor of Sufism at the University of Multan (Pakistan). Additionally he has established 53 Meditation Halls in Pakistan, as well as 26 others in the UK, USA, Canada, UAE, Bahrain, Thailand, Russia, Denmark, Holland and Norway.
